  • First we will review Anatomy and Physiology
  • Students will go to salon to prepare for show progression grades
  • Show progression grades today, dress rehearsal.
Wednesday
  • Run thrus for CTAE EXPO Cosmetology Show during class in theater
  • Show is tonight, Red Carpet 5:30-6:30 PM, show starts immediately at 6:30PM.  All participants be in your seats/place by 6:15 PM
Thursday
  • Show feedback session:  the pros and cons of show, what students learned from experience
Friday
  • Salon sanitation/housecleaning today:  we will prepare cosmetology class and salon for spring break/shutdown.  We will perform an inventory check.

Monday
Cosmetology I

  • We will review Anatomy diagrams.  As teacher points to anatomy, students will call out the name of the body part and explain how cosmetology services can enhance that area.
  • Our focus will be on bone structure
Cosmetology II
  • Students will respond to walk-in client simulation. Teacher will simulate a consultation at the beginning of classes, explain desired results.  Students will then to the best of their ability style the hair according to the consultation:  Roller-set updo.

Cosmetology I

  • We will review Anatomy diagrams.  As teacher points to anatomy, students will call out the name of the body part and explain how cosmetology services can enhance that area.
  • Our focus will be on muscle contour and stimulation
Cosmetology II
  • Students will respond to walk-in client simulation. Teacher will simulate a consultation at the beginning of classes, explain desired results.  Students will then to the best of their ability style the hair according to the consultation:  Pin curls and twists.

Cosmetology I

  • We will review Anatomy diagrams.  As teacher points to anatomy, students will call out the name of the body part and explain how cosmetology services can enhance that area.
  • Our focus will be on nerves and stimulation
Cosmetology II
  • Students will respond to walk-in client simulation. Teacher will simulate a consultation at the beginning of classes, explain desired results.  Students will then to the best of their ability style the hair according to the consultation:  Style hair incorporating teasing, back-combing and brushing for a southern belle beauty pageant
Thursday

Cosmetology I
  • Students will work on Anatomy performance assessments related to cosmetology:  facials, make-up skills, massage technique, hair styling ( hair cutting involves anatomy; however, it is a level 2 standard)
Cosmetology II
  • Students will respond to walk-in client simulation. Teacher will simulate a consultation at the beginning of classes, explain desired results.  Students will then to the best of their ability style the hair according to the consultation:  Style hair incorporating braiding for an athletic photo shoot
Friday
  • Students will work on CTAE Expo Cosmetology Show
  • Students will present their CTAE Expo Cosmetology progression performances

  • Go over highlights of Unit 2, Infection Control
  • students will be introduced to roller setting

  • Students will focus on 3 performance assessments: braiding, finger waving, pin curls

Cosmetology I
  • We will begin Anatomy & Physiology Unit
  • As a class we will discuss Anatomy and Physiology, students will complete chapter review questions

  • Students will focus on performance assessments: braiding, finger waving, pin curls, skip waves 
Wednesday
Cosmetology I
  • We will continue with Anatomy & Physiology Unit
  • As a class we will review Anatomy and Physiology, students will complete Anatomy diagrams
Cosmetology II
  • Students will focus on performance assessments: braiding, finger waving, pin curls, skip waves, roller set 
Thursday
Students will present their CTAE Expo Cosmetology progression performances
