Cosmetology I
Monday
  • Review for unit 1 test., test tomorrow.
  • Practice, work on cosmetology show
Tuesday
  • Take unit 1 test, covering standards HUM-IPCS-1, HUM-IPC-2, HUM-IPC-4
  • Practice, work on cosmetology show
Wednesday-Thursday
  • We will begin our next unit, standards HUM-IPCS-3, HUM-IPC-5, HUM-IPC-6 Safety, Infection Control, State laws, rules and regulations.
Friday
  • Students will present their progression for the Performance Final/Cosmetology Show
Cosmetology II
Monday-Thursday
  • Students will work on Histology of the hair and skin, and perform hair and scalp analysis demonstrations
 Friday
  • Students will present their progression for the Performance Final/Cosmetology Show
Cosmetology III
Students will work on their Course Portfolio Cummulative Summative Assessment

  • We will review The Orientation of Cosmetology and skills need for the industry.
  • Unit 1: Chapters 1-4, History and Career Opportunities, Life Skills, Your Professional Image, Communicating for Success
  • Performance:  students will learn to give healthy stimulating facials and learn make-up application 
Wednesday-Friday
  • Students will work on performance assessments and/or Cosmetology Show

Cosmetology II
Monday-Friday

  • Students will be working on Time/grade sheets:  students may choose to work on a pool of cosmetology assignments and performances all worth specific amounts of time.  The time correlates to a grading scale.  The time/grade sheets are due each Friday for calculation and grading
Monday
  • Performance:  Facial and Make-up Application Review.  Students are allowed to be assessed on mastery of standards every Monday

Friday
Students will work on performance assessments and/or Cosmetology Show

  • Project options:  Students will partner up to create a timeline of advancements made in the cosmetology industry or partner up to create a mock consultation between stylist and client.  Students will present work to class.

Welcome Back!

Monday
  • Teacher will check schedules and transcripts
  • We will discuss class expectations, rules, class routine, etc.
Tuesday
  • As classes and schedules are being adjusted, we will continue discussing class procedures
  • Students will complete "Who Are You???" questionnaire and present to class
Wednesday
Cosmetology I
  • Students will complete "Two Truths and a Lie" icebreaker.
  • Students will work on "Name plates."
 Cosmetology II and III
  • Students will create a portfolio, visuals and documentation of their performance assessments.  Set up portfolio organizational slots
Thursday
 Cosmetology I
  • Educational game:  We will play Units-based Textbook Relay to familiarize students with the chapters and content of the upcoming unit.
Cosmetoloy II
  • We will begin discussing and studying "Principles of Hair Design"  which will be applied through the semester during the hairstyling, hair coloring, and hair cutting units 
  • Diagnostic assessment:  Students will be pre-assessed on styles
