Instructional Plan: Students will work on phase 3 of business plan--marketing strategies and begin phase 4: The students will create interview forms and practice mock interviews to gain employees for their businesses. Some students will act as interviewer, others will act as interviewees. Teacher will observe and assist where needed.
Closing Summarizer: Students will discuss their business ideas, teacher will provide feedback.
Business Grand-Openings and presentation of business portfolios due March 5th.
The Cosmetology program emphasizes specialized training in theory; safety; sanitation; state laws, rules and regulations; chemistry; anatomy and physiology; hair, skin, and nail care; hair styling, coloring, cutting; reception; lab and salon management.

HS-ACS-12. Students will display continuity of salon services they have previously mastered.
Demonstrate application of skills through salon services via client or mannequin (hairstyling, chemical, skin, and nail services, etc.).
2. What is the E.Q.?
EQ(s): How does setting goals, values, having a mission statement, and game planning determine the outcome of a business?
3. What is the agenda/assignment for today?
Warm Up: We will discuss the agenda, standard(s), E.Q. and mentally apply them to the Instructional plan
Instructional Plan: Students will begin phase 1 of business projects: The students will get into groups and act as cosmetology entrepreneurs. Today the students will brainstorm, come up with a business plan--what type of cosmetology business they desire to operate, come up with the theme of their business, what services they will provide, vision, mission statement, goals, ect. *Everything must be typed. Your business needs a name, contact info. Your portfolio needs a Table of Contents, Pictures and/or Graphics
4. At the end of class (Summarizer), complete this section. List facts about what you did, learned, and/or want to learn. Then, turn this in to the teacher to receive credit.

Cosmetology Classes
*Cosmetology Show, May 5th, 3:00pm at Earl Reese Theater, Pebblebrook High
- Warm Up: We will address the Standard(s), E.Q. Students will complete a cosmetology I related comprehension questionnaire.
- Instructional Plan: For 1/4 of the class working in the salon--Teacher will act as a "walk-in" client, announce to students the requested hairstyle of the teacher's choice, and then students will individually respond/create the hairstyle on a manikin. Teacher will walk around and help individuals who need extra assistance in developing the style. Another 1/4 of the class will be working in the nail room, performing manicures. 1/4 will be providing facials in the facial/spa room. And, the others will work as supply/inventory control.
- Closing Summarizer: Students will sanitize their stations. Students will be able to address any concerns or questions they have about the Unit.

All Cosmetology Classes
- We will address the Standard(s). Students will complete a cosmetology II and III related comprehension questionnaire (respond to E.Q.).
- Teacher will act as a "walk-in" client, announce to students the requested hairstyle of the teacher's choice, and then students will individually respond/create the hairstyle on a manikin. Cosmetology II and III students will be able to work on their time/grade sheets.
- Students will fulfill their salon duties.
- Students are encourage to address any concerns or questions they have about the unit, class, grades, ect.
