Final Exams begin this week.  Until your class is given the Final, students will get into study groups for Final Exam Review and create a review game for the Final using study guides.

May 9th - 13th

All Cosmetology Classes:  Reviewing for Final Exam--students will partner up and work on the assigned unit to review each day, afterwards they may work individually on any units of the curriculum where they struggled.



Cosmetology I
Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills in basic corrective hair and scalp treatments, plain facials, products and supplies, diseases and disorders, and safety precautions


Cosmetology II and Advanced Cos.
Students will demonstrate knowledge and skills in safety and infection control, haircutting, and hairstyling

May 2nd-6th

Facility Management projects: This project provides real life applicable experience.
The 4 mock facilities and/or businesses are:  spa, nail shop, beauty supply, and salon.
The teacher has coordinated with other teachers in the Career Tech, Business, and PE departments for 4 weeks to send students down as clients. This is the last week of the project.

April 18-22

All Cosmetology Classes

Facility Management projects: This project provides real life applicable experience. The teacher has coordinated with other teachers in the Career Tech, Business, and PE departments for 4 weeks to send students down as clients.
Students will get into their chosen facility groups--there are 4
Students will manage a mock cosmetology facility for a week, then rotate the following week. The 4 mock facilities will be going on simultaneously. Some students will be clients. Teacher will be walking around, taking notes, providing feedback, talking with clients, assessing efficiency of facilities overall.
Students will have to sanitize their facility before leaving class. Sanitation/Infection Control is part of Standards.

April 11-15

All Cosmetology ClassesFor the next 4 weeks students will work as if they are employed in a salon (Redoing the facility management projects). This project provides real life applicable experience. We will review instructions on Facility Management projects
Students will choose to be in 1 out of 4 groups.
There are 4 mock facilities: Salon, Inventory/Product Supplier, Nail shop, Facial/Spa. The groups will rotate to another mock facility to manage each new class day.
Students will be required to come up with a plan--duty roster, create an appointment book, create expectations (assessment chart), etc.
The 4 mock facilities will function simultaneously.  Some students will be managers, employees, or clients.
All groups will experience working all facilities.
