- We will address the Standard(s). Students will complete a cosmetology II and III related comprehension questionnaire (respond to E.Q.).
- Teacher will act as a "walk-in" client, announce to students the requested hairstyle of the teacher's choice, and then students will individually respond/create the hairstyle on a manikin. Cosmetology II and III students will be able to work on their time/grade sheets.
- Students will fulfill their salon duties.
- Students are encourage to address any concerns or questions they have about the unit, class, grades, ect.
The Cosmetology program emphasizes specialized training in theory; safety; sanitation; state laws, rules and regulations; chemistry; anatomy and physiology; hair, skin, and nail care; hair styling, coloring, cutting; reception; lab and salon management.

- We will discuss application of artificial nails. Students will complete graphic organizer.
- Students will provide advanced nail services:a. Prepare a table for artificial nail services using decontamination procedures. b. Demonstrate proper handling of equipment, supplies, and chemicals for artificial nail services. c. Discuss options with clients about the variety of nail services available. d. Discuss safety and home maintenance care of artificial nails.
- e. Demonstrate correct disposal of waste contaminated with blood-borne pathogens and proper clean-up procedures.
- Students will be introduced to Hairstyling. Students will complete guided note-taking. Students will be allowed to apply principles of Hairstyling in salon

- We will be reviewing for Midterm this week
- The teacher will go over the agenda, standards, and E. Q. and relate them to the Instructional plan. The students will get into study/review groups. Students will be able to choose within their group what they would like to create to use as study tool for the Midterm. Examples: game, Q & A session, graphic organizer. 2) The students will swap their study tool with another group for them to study and they study the other groups'. As a class towards the end, we will determine which study tools were effective. Students will be able to discuss with teacher any questions, concerns about the midterm.

Histology of the Skin, Hair and Scalp projects due this week. Be prepared to present.
Cosmetology II and III:
Students will work on Chemical Relaxing Summative Assessment Projects. Students will have to address the following:
a. Describe the chemistry of hair relaxing and the role of reduction reactions in relaxing.
b. Explain the chemical and physical change that take place during hair relaxing.
c. Distinguish between ammonium thioglycolate and sodium hydroxide relaxers.
d. State the role of the relaxer and neutralizer.
e. Identify relaxer strengths, including mild, regular, and super.
*Cosmetology Club will meet Monday and Thursday to choreograph dances for Cosmetology Show
