Cosmetology I

Monday-Tuesday

• We will begin a new unit, Anatomy & Physiology in Cosmetology.  Teacher will provide a general overview, students will read and answer chapter review questions, and then we will discuss the content in detail.

Wednesday

• Students will create Anatomy & Physiology graphic organizers and diagrams to be utilized as references and study guides

Thursday

• We will review Anatomy and begin unit project

Friday

• Students will work on unit-related performance assessments, focal point is stimulation through massage:  facials, manicures/pedicures, scalp massages 

Cosmetology II

Monday

• Student will continue with hair braiding performance assessment

Tuesday-Friday

• Students are allowed to continue to assess on Histology unit.  We will begin our next unit Principles of Hair Design and Hairstyling.   Teacher will provide a general overview, students will read and answer chapter review questions, and then we will discuss the content in detail.

• Students will work on application of unit performance assessments.  The hairstyles and other cosmetology performances and services will go towards completion of the course summative project.  For the course summative project, students will create portfolios of their work.

Jan 26-30

• Get into groups for Infection Control Skit projects, due tomorrow

Cosmetology II

• Review Results of Common Assessment
• Students will learn and demonstrate how to perform a hair analysis, which will lead into Principles of Hair Design

• Present Infection Control Skit projects 

Cosmetology II

• Students will continue to learn and demonstrate how to perform a hair analysis, which will lead into Principles of Hair Design

Wednesday-Thursday

Cosmetology I

• We will continue to discuss and model infection control practices
• Students will complete review questions as a study guide to Infection Control Summative Assessment

Cosmetology II

Wednesday-Friday

• Students will model Hair Analysis Assessment

Wednesday-Thursday

• Students will get into groups for Infection Control group projects to brainstorm.  Students will present an Infection Control Skit they create to reflect Infection Control unit standards

Friday

• Progression grade:  Students will present an Infection Control Skit they create to reflect Infection Control unit standards

• Cosmetology II and Cosmetology III students:  Course Summative Projects/Portfolios are due Monday, December 15th

• Students will take Final Exams

December 8-12

Cosmetology I

• We will complete last unit, Chemistry and Chemical Texturing
• Turn in chapter review questions and answers, pg. 263
• Students will be allowed to work on any performances/cosmetology services covered in level 1 cosmetology this week

Thursday-Friday

• We will begin reviewing for Final Exam (written), by unit.  The Final  is cumulative. 

Cosmetology II and Cosmetology III
Monday-Friday

• Students will work on course summative project:  Portfolio, collecting, organizing, and then binding documentation of cosmetology services performed throughout course.  Portfolio is due Monday, Dec 15th. 
• Teacher will work with students one on one who needs extra attention learning specific services as the others are working on their portfolio.

 

December 1-5

• We will review Anatomy, and begin Chemistry and Chemical Texturing  Unit
• Anatomy Summative Assessment next week on Tuesday

Tuesday-Friday

• We will continue discussing Chemistry and Chemical Texturing highlighting key terms
• We will review for Anatomy Assessment.  Assessment on Tuesday
