Monday

  • We will review, prepare for unit summative assessments:  
    • for level 1, Anatomy & Physiology assessment
    • Level 2, Principles of Hair Design
Tuesday

  • Students will take summative assessments
    • Level 2, will then work on fingerwaving and time/grade sheets
    • Level 1, after Anatomy project presentations, students will perform Anatomy related cosmetology procedures
Wednesday-Friday

  • We will begin our next unit
    • Level 1, Chemistry in Anatomy
      • After discussing and providing an overview of Chemistry in Cosmetology, students will complete the chapter review
    • Level 2, Hairstyling
      • Wetstyling will be the focus
        • fingerwaving, pin curls

o   Parent Power Presentation – March 3 at 6:30 in the Media Center

o   Parents of 9th, 10th and 11th graders - Plan to attend the “College Credit Now” Summit on Thursday, March 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Campbell High School.  Meet college representatives from Georgia State University, Georgia Highlands, Georgia Perimeter and Chattahoochee Technical College as well as representatives from the DOE.  LEARN ABOUT 100% PAID TUITION AND EARNING COLLEGE CREDIT WHILE IN HIGH SCHOOL.

  • Continue discussing Anatomy in Cosmetology
  • Students will perform Anatomy related cosmetology procedures

  • Students will be given the opportunity to be assessed on Design principles and Design elements 
  • 1st groups of students will begin learning Wet Styling:  Fingerwaving
  • All other students not working on fingerwaving are responsible for Time/Grade Sheets

Cosmetology I

Monday-Tuesday
  • We will begin a new unit, Anatomy & Physiology in Cosmetology.  Teacher will provide a general overview, students will read and answer chapter review questions, and then we will discuss the content in detail.
Wednesday

  • Students will create Anatomy & Physiology graphic organizers and diagrams to be utilized as references and study guides
Thursday

  • We will review Anatomy and begin unit project
Friday

  • Students will work on unit-related performance assessments, focal point is stimulation through massage:  facials, manicures/pedicures, scalp massages 
Cosmetology II

Monday

  • Student will continue with hair braiding performance assessment
Tuesday-Friday

  • Students are allowed to continue to assess on Histology unit.  We will begin our next unit Principles of Hair Design and Hairstyling.   Teacher will provide a general overview, students will read and answer chapter review questions, and then we will discuss the content in detail.

  • Students will work on application of unit performance assessments.  The hairstyles and other cosmetology performances and services will go towards completion of the course summative project.  For the course summative project, students will create portfolios of their work.
