December 14-18

Summative Course Portfolios for all cosmetology classes are due Monday, December 14th, no exceptions, no late grades will be given.

Level 2 and 3 kits are due back by Tuesday.

  • Monday-Wednesday we will review for Final Exams
  • Thursday, 1st and 2nd block classes will take their Final Exams.  Early Release at 11:30am
  • Friday, 3rd and 4th block classes will take their Final Exams.  Early Release at 11:30am

All Cosmetology Classes: Intro, Level II, and Level III
Monday-Friday
  • Students will work on their Summative Course Assessment:  Standards Portfolio.  Students are to use the Standards as titles of each page, provide a visual of them addressing the Standard on that page, List the Learning Objectives covered per Standard, and then Summarize the importance of the Standard to the industry.
    • Portfolios are due December 14th, no late portfolios will be accepted.  Students are allowed to turn portfolios in early.

November 30-December 4

  • Students will respond to walk-in client scenarios  this week.  Teacher will each day request a style or cosmetology service.  Students will perform the service on their manikin or live client as a performance assessment
  • Students will work on their Summative Course Assessment:  Portfolio

    • Portfolio:  students have a list of assessments they must complete.  They must document their performance assessments visually/pictures and then bind them, creating a portfolio of their works.  All captions, titles, tables of contents, bio must be typed.  Portfolio must be professional, organized, and attractive.  Portfolios are due December 15, 2015.  No late portfolios will be accepted.

Intro to Personal Care
  • We will review unit 1 and 2 content
  • We are currently working on Chemistry in Cosmetology
  • Students will PRESENT their Peer/Student-Teaching Chemistry Projects

Classroom teacher will break students into groups (mini-classes).  Students will select roles:  teacher or student.  Each member of group, teacher and student, much choose a criteria piece to address.
