Cosmetology I

Students are currently working on Chemistry in Cosmetology.

  • Students will demonstrate their knowledge and application of chemistry in cosmetology while presenting chemistry terminology

Intro to Personal Care
Monday-Friday
  • Students will be working on Student-teaching and Mini Class projects.
    • Student-teacher will take group (mini class) attendance, manage discipline, provide Anatomy in Cosmetology lesson, assess their students.
    • Provide a presentation/demonstration of 6 major areas of body cosmetologists service.
    • Check for accuracy and provide feedback 
    • Summarize, why study anatomy in cosmetology?  Discuss Learning Objectives
Cosmetology III
  • Students are preparing for CTAE EXPO, Cosmetology Pageant practice all week.
    • Intro:  WELCOME
    • Pageant session 1:  Fashion Designer Competition
    • Pageant session 2:  Hairstyling Competition
    • Pageant session 3:  Make-up Artist Competition
    • Pageant Session 4:  Real World Application/Connection Competition

February 29-March 4

Intro to Personal Care

Monday-Tuesday
  • We will work on Anatomy in Cosmetology unit.  After our class discussion students will:
    • understand how the human body functions as an integrated whole is a key component in understanding how a client's hair, skin, and nails may react to various treatments and services.
    •  need to be able to recognize the difference between what is considered normal and what is considered abnormal for the body in order to determine whether specific treatments and services are appropriate.
    • understand the bone and muscle structure of the human body will you use the proper application of services and products for scalp manipulations and facials.
Wednesday
  • Students will complete Anatomy diagrams
Thursday
  • Students will complete Chapter 6 review questions
Friday
  • Begin practicing performance assessments associated with Anatomy in Cosmetology

  • We will review for Summative Assessment

  • Students will take Infection Control Summative Assessment
Wednesday
  • Students will be allowed to make up any missing assignments.  Grades will be posted for the 4th 6 weeks Friday.
Thursday-Friday
  • We will begin our next unit, Anatomy in Cosmetology
  • Students will read chapter 6 and answer chapter review questions.
  • We will discuss the Learning Objectives associated with the chapter.
Cosmetology III
  • This week students will prepare for CTAE EXPO Cosmetology pageant.  Students will work on hairstyles for pageantry.

February 1-5

Intro to Personal Care (Cosmetology I)
Monday-Tuesday
  • Students will continue working on unit 2, Infection Control, this week.  We will discuss Infection Control and students will evaluate and apply the regulations of infection control: principles, prevention, procedures and precautions to reduce the risk of the spread of infection to clients and personal care services personnel.
  • Students are finishing up with their review guides
Wednesday-Thursday
  • Students will work on an Infection Control project in computer lab.  They will have to present an Infection control topic via technology.
Friday
  • Students will begin presenting Infection Control projects.  Second half of class, students will work on cosmetology performances, demonstrating Infection Control practices.


Cosmetology III

Monday-Friday
  • We are currently working on:  Professionalism, Hairstyling implementing Principles of Hair Design, and Walk-in Client scenarios.  Students have to continually display employability and Life Skills.
  • Students will work on Time/Grade Sheets
Wednesday
  • Students will take an EOPA review quiz
