Cosmetology II and Advanced: Review haircoloring principles and create emphasis by applying 2 different shades of hair colors to hair, finish with hair style
*Spring Break next week--make sure to complete any missing assignments.
The Cosmetology program emphasizes specialized training in theory; safety; sanitation; state laws, rules and regulations; chemistry; anatomy and physiology; hair, skin, and nail care; hair styling, coloring, cutting; reception; lab and salon management.

March 21-25
All Cosmetology Classes:
We are working on self-regulated learning: Last week students went on the georgia standards website and chose standard(s) to focus on for this week.
Based upon the standard each student chose, the students will set up their stations and work on activities that demonstrate or relate to the standard of their choice. The teacher will walk around to check if the activity matches the standard the student chose and also sign off on daily assessment chart.
Charts will be collected at the end of the week for review and employability grade.

Guest Speaker is suppose to come in on Wednesday and Thursday to give pointers on how to be successful--students will take notes and apply.

March 7-11
All cosmetology classes:
- We started our facility student management project last week. We will discuss the feedback provided by clients on customer satisfaction cards. The groups of students will rotate facilities and continue facility management project. There are 4 mock facilities--Salon, Spa, Nail Shop, and Beauty Supply
- Students will prep there facilities for clients. Student-clients will come from other classes, coordinated within the Career Tech department.
- The 4 mock facilities will be going on simultaneously. Some students will be employers/managers, some employees. All students have duties. Teacher will be walking around, taking notes, providing feedback, talking with clients, assessing efficiency of facilities overall.
- Students have "closing" duties per facility they are managing.

February 28-March 4th

This week we will start the "Employer/Manager For the Day" group projects
Monday-Tuesday
Students will watch The Milady's Standard Cosmetology series to get ideas for managing a cosmetology facility and providing customer satisfaction on various services.
Wednesday-Thursday
1) Students will choose to be in 1 out of 4 groups: Salon, Inventory/Product Supplier, Nail shop, Facial/Spa.
2) Students will be required to come up with a plan--duty roster, create an appointment book, create plans to create a welcoming environment. The environment has to also meet sanitary guidelines.
Friday
Starting today and over the next 3 class periods, the 4 mock facilities will be going on simultaneously. Each day the groups will manage a different facility--eventually all groups will experience managing each mock facility. Each day some students will be clients.
